Is there a way to show the total time for a playlist?

Click on the playlist.  Now look at the bottom of the window.  There's a status bar that shows summary information.  You might have to select all files, but it should do that by default if you haven't clicked on any individual files.

Thanks, that did the trick.

However, I had to open the playlist and select all tracks to make it work.
Marking the playlist only, I got "no file selected".
Ok for now, but of course it would have been more convenient the way you described it.

Strange.  I just clicked on 6 or 8 different playlists, in the Left Navigation Area, and each time it showed the playlist and the summary at the bottom showed the number of files, total size, and total time.

If you can't get this to work after restarting MC, maybe it would help you to know that Control-a is MC's select all key.  So you can just click on any song in the list, then press control-a to select all of them.
