Media Center22 will not connect to my output speakers

My choice of output device is:
1 internal speakers
2 Peachtree Audio 24/192 USB Audio Out (Core Audio)
When I try to connect my output to (2), it just reverts to internal speakers and I cannot get any sound
Please tell me what I need to do to have it use (2) instead of (1)

Can you play sounds from the system or from other players through your Peachtree DAC?  Itunes, VLC, etc ?

That's step zero:  Make the Mac play to the DAC in question.  After that, we can work on the MC configuration.  But there's normally not a lot of configuration necessary.
