MC22 And Sanskrit Pro - DSD playback issues

(1/2) > >>

Trakkasure:
I'm trying to stream DSD files to the sanskrit pro on OSX (El Capitan) and am having no luck.
I've looked all over searching for anyone who has gotten this to work. I've been able to get this working on the Windows version only through the ASIO driver.
Has anyone been able to get this working? Is there a special setting I need to set. (I've done the Audio settings thing, changing the output to 384k).

Nothing I have tried seems to work.

Any suggestions?

blgentry:
To send native DSD to your DAC, you need to set:

Tools > Options > Audio > Settings > Bitstreaming > DSD

You mention 384k, which I presume you mean you did something in the Output Format section of the DSP Studio?  This would normally be used to control how MC converts DSD to PCM on the fly to send it to a DAC that does not support DSD natively.  If you want native DSD, you want the setting I listed above.

Good luck.

Brian.

Trakkasure:
Indeed I did do that. All I get is static, with faint audio in the background.

DoP doesn't work either.

The 384k setting is in Audio Settings control panel on the mac. I had read somewhere it was needed, but doesn't make a difference.

blgentry:
You might want to try some other sample rates in Audio MIDI Setup.  352kHz is one I would try.  Both with and without DoP.

I have very little expertise with DSD.  Just throwing out a suggestion.

Brian.

JimH:
Start at 48K and work upward.  Devices that claim high sample rates don't always work as expected.
