Display pop up window in Media Center?
connieflyer:
Is there any way to disable the Display pop up window that gives detail on selected file? I use the standard view and find in annoying when I am manually selecting a song to play, and the window pops up with info on song and takes up 30% of the play list column. I use this for audio only and don't need all the features, but have used it for years and like the program itself. Thank you

Open MC's options.
Type "tool" (without quotes) in the search bar at the bottom.
Select "Tree & View" in the left pane.
Now, on the right, you see the option to turn them off, and also, if you configure the toolbars (top or bottom), you can add a button to quickly turn them on and off.
One slight issue with this though, is that when you turn them off, they don't turn off right away. You need to leave the view and go back to it, then they're off. Same applies when turning them on. Feels buggy and unintuitive to me, but no-one else thought so when I brought it up, so that's just the way it is at the moment.

Changed driver to wasapi and it is working fine. When I go to the customize toolbar menu, I have the following current toolbar butons, &File &Edit &Player &Tools & Help & View if these are the buttons you mentioned, do I remove &View? or am I missing something. Thani you.

Here's how you turn off the "pop up" which is called a "tooltip":
Tools > Options > Tree & View > List > show track info tooltips > (uncheck)

Hmmm... can we rewind back to the first post?
When you said...

I thought you were talking about the tooltip that shows up when you hover the mouse over a file in the list...
like so:
Now, I'm not so sure.
My instructions were only to turn off tooltips...
and if you wanted, to add a toolbar button that allows easy toggling of said tooltips...
I now think that perhaps it is me that is missing something? Could you clarify what you mean by "pop up window"?
