Storing options needs sometimes a loooooong time to close
(1/1)
globetrotters1:
Hello again,
I now started to enter my special library fields into the Linux MC library and hitting 'ok' to store them nearly freezes my system. Is it normal that I sometimes have to wait like 10 minutes until the dialogue window closes after hitting 'OK'?
Thanks

What's the size of your library?
globetrotters1:
400'000 music tracks - I understand that this is a not so common size...
But hey, no problems here as I ported the whole stuff onto Linux by now and it works...
Thanks anyway!
Appreciated
Martin

My guess would be that it's the time it takes to insert that new field into the database.
The notification mechanism hasn't been implemented in linux yet (spinny wheel, whatever).
That would make it more clear that MC was "working on it"..

There's an easy way to tell: Create a new blank library. Do NOT import any files. Now define your fields. If it works quickly, then Bob's theory is probably correct.
Brian.
