Flexible use of Panes

I am an extensive user of Panes (for audio and video). Main disadvantage for me of Panes is that the "waterfall" of my search is fixed by the sequence of the various fields from left to right. I use 8 fields to select Albums. Is it possible to use the Panes dynamically, in the sense that selecting a value of a fields allows for changing fields left of the field instead of only the fields on the righthand side of this field?

Sure.  Selecting panes "out of order" is supported.

Click on Pane menu > Customize View > Settings > Advanced > Filter in both directions
