Error Message
« on: June 20, 2017, 10:08:32 pm »

Hello,

How do I fix this error message.

Install Wizard could not copy necessary files to the destination folder.

Please ensure that the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\JRiver\Media Center 22\JRTools.dll' is not in use.

Thanks.

Are you installing MC23 with MC22 already on the PC?

If so, make sure MC22 doesn't start with Windows.  (Options > Startup > Windows Startup > Run on Windows startup > Nothing), then reboot your PC, Check MC isn't running (if so, you did something wrong in the last step, so kill MC now), then start the installation again.

Make sure you make a manual backup of the MC22 library and settings before you install MC23, just in case the installation doesn't bring everything over automatically. If so, you can restore the MC22 backup into MC23.

If you are just reinstalling MC22, please provide more information.
