Raspberry Pi cannot find any music
akira54:
Hi,
I followed the installation instructions by mwillems (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=106027.0) and installed the software without a hitch on my (2012) Raspberry Pi B. MC started without a problem but when I told it to import music from my NAS it finished in less than a second and imported nothing. There was no error message. I am sorry I cannot offer more information and I realise this is terribly vague but can someone at least suggest what I might check or do to identify the problem? I am computer literate but not familiar with Linux.
mwillems:
You'll need to be more specific about what you mean by "told it to import music from my NAS"? Did you mount the NAS first? Can you see it in the file manager?

Sorry. Yes the NAS was mounted and yes it was shown in the file manager and yes the path to the music folder was entered.

That's very odd then. My suggestion is that you doublecheck all the settings you entered as part of the import process (did you accidentally uncheck audio types, are you sure the path is correct, etc.). If you can see the NAS in the file manager, MC should be able to see it too.

It does see the music folder on the NAS, it just finishes in no time and imports nothing. I'll hook it all up again and see if I can make a screenshot or two.
