There is a problem in version 23 (23.0.22) of media center when trying to use a Ceton InfiniTV 6 ETH tuner.

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 on my PC over the weekend and thought I would give version 23 a try.  I can only get Media Center to tune a few channels and on most of them I get a Waiting for Signal Lock message and it never get the channel.  I can go to web page of the InfiniTV 6 ETH and see that the correct channel was selected and it was marked as playing.  To make sure this was an error with version 23 of media center I installed version 22 and after setting it up everything worked fine, I could tune all of the channels.  I have been using this setup along with version 22 of media center for a while now with no issues.  This was the first time I have tried any release of version 23.

I'm guessing it's somewhere in the security settings (firewall, antivirus, etc.).

Then how would it only affect version 23?  Everything works fine in version 22.  Firewall is set the same for both version 22 and 23.

Antivirus or other "security" software might allow one and not the other.

Windows updates can also do strange things.

Reread the original message.  This is a fresh install of Windows 10 version 1703.  Version 22 works fine and 23 has the issue.  If it were something blocking it from working and not getting the data from the network then how do a few channels work and the others don't.  I am willing to do some testing to help diagnose the issue but just pushing it off on the firewall or antivirus is not much help.

Windows Defender is part of the Win10 installation and there is a firewall.  The wiki has a topic on Windows Defender.

MC Logs ?

The MC wiki on Defender is way outdated, does not even look remotely like the current Windows 10 Defender. Here are some real links to help completely disable Defender:

If it works with some channels but not with other channels, indeed it probably is not Firewall.  Windows 10 is still very strange in some aspects.  I have just tried running MC23 on a Windows 10 computer (version 1703) and it worked just fine.

How about trying this:  in MC Options, Media Network, uncheck "Use Media Network to share this library and enable DLNA".  Close Options.  Restart MC23, and go back to Options and re-enable that option.

Yes I know that Windows defender is part of the Windows installation.  I also stated the firewall rules are set the same as far as I can see for both Media Center 22 and Media Center 23.  I went on to ask the question how could the firewall or antivirus allow some of the channels to work and others to not work.  The PC is talking to the same IP address of the tuner so if the firewall is blocking network access then no channels should work.  I am not dismissing anything you stated and have checked Windows Defender.

Turned off both Windows Defender and the firewall and the results are the same.  Version 22 works fine and version 23 does not.

I tried disabling and reenabling the DLNA and still does the same thing.  Yes after disabling the setting I shut down media center and restarted before enabling it again.

What tuners are you using?  If the are the same as I am using then it could be something with the setup.  Its just strange that version 22 works just fine.
