New Topic Errors...
« on: July 03, 2003, 07:42:18 am »

Every time I create a new topic then select either Refresh Preview or Post Topic I get the following error screen...

Error

A runtime error has occured.
Do you wish to debug?
Line 158
Error: Object expected

I press the OK buton & the error screen goes away.  The new topic will preview or post normally.

What is causing this ?

I get that to sometimes, But not on this site.
Once in a while a webpage or your computer has problems with the java script.  (At least that's what I was told)
I just ignore them.

Thanks for the info.

I just formatted my hard drive & did a clean install of Win XP but have not updated Java.  That may be the problem.

You don't need to install Java to get rid of the problem. My guess is that you will have some sort of programming platform installed on your computer? Usually that error occurs when there is a problem with the javascript and you have some sort of IDE installed that will allows you to debug it. It can also happen even when you have no IDE installed (I think) but I am not sure how it happens also.

Basically it just mean that there is an error with the javascript being use in the page. You can just click no and forget about it. :)

yeah,
its a bug in the code on the site.

I get it all the time.

To get rid of it go to: Tools/Options/Advanced
Choose: Disable Script Debugging.

That'll get rid of it. :)
