Networing Media Centre for Mac and Windows for one interface

I am new to MC and have recently purchased a Sonos Connect as a music sound system. I am setting up a network and backup drive to store MC from a Mac computer and MC from a Windows PC that the Sonnos will connect to.
Q 1. Will a combined platform license work with this set up?
Q 2. Once stored on the network will there be a conflict between the two MCs?
Q 3. Is there a way to differentiate the two MC libraries (my music vs his music ;))
Q 4. Should the two libraries be merged?
Q 5. What else do I need to know to make this work?
