1. Fixed: DLNA: Don't call GetMediaInfo if the controller options are set to Disable SetNext support.
2. Fixed: DLNA: Fix status calls for GetPosition which were not entirely correct in the previous build.
3. DLNA: Fixed: Options that aren't active depending on the current settings are grayed out.
5. DLNA: NEW: You can select the audio formats that are converted when "specified output format only when necessary" is selected. (under Add or configure DLNA servers .. [Server name]->Audio->Advanced)
6. Changed: DLNA: Move the detection for the ability to do SetNext into the track playback start. Saves on device calls.
7. Fixed: DLNA: Add a GetTransportState for Playback state = PLAYING before GetPosition because on some slow devices GetPosition was returning values from the previous track which caused a track skip on those devices that support SetNext.
8. Changed: DLNA: Because of #4 above, change the track status update for SetNext support to 5 seconds.
9. Changed: DLNA: when ignoring position failure, add a settling delay for the play command after sending the URI to the renderer. Helps with some slow renderers.

11. Fixed: DLNA: get the fileinfo to update onscreen instantly when transitioning tracks.
12. Fixed: DLNA: change to the DLNA image slideshow push to renderer to work with MC as a renderer.

Before I start, Let me write that there is a modest improvement when playing via DLNA.
Example 3:10 to Yuma does not display audio jumping at the beginning of the movie. Thanks

Are these DLNA changes built in ? I  do not see any difference between the options in "Add or Configure DLNA between builds 73 and 70?
I was looking for more options to tweak by myself.

With this 23.0.73, testing still does not iprove the audio jumping or skimping. Video is still sluggish.
I think you have Assassin creed, and Alien Covenant, try testing with these two, you will get a feel of what I am writing about. Now Audio is clear but Video breaks badly in the Covenant.

All the 1080P concerts i.e Lionel - Richie Live in Paris, Celine Dion A new Day, and Bee Gees all suffer from audio jumping and video sluggish a bit. Video not moving forward fast enough.
But the DVD non 1080P videos i.e Yanni Live at Acropolis, Gloria Estefan Live play nicely with no audio or video issues.

The DNLA changes are mostly invisible to the user. They are in the protocol between MC and the renderer.

The slider has no effect on DLNA playback. It's only used for playback in MC itself.

I'm still treating this as a difference between the linux and windows network transfer code.

The DNLA changes are mostly invisible to the user. They are in the protocol between MC and the renderer.

Here's something I've wondered for a good while now.

Why is it when I try to close MC while it's still playing music, it takes a few seconds before the music stops playing and a few more seconds until MC itself closes versus stopping the music first then closing MC... which is almost an instantaneous closing?

It looks like MC empties the audio buffer before closing.
When I do this in windows the same thing happens.
When stopped, windows shuts down quicker when Media Network is enabled.
I think that's an issue in windows. It seems like it should take longer to say bye-bye to all of the DLNA network devices than appears to happen in windows MC.

With MC 23.0.70 : I can open and watch 10-15 minutes of video on the average with: 50 first Dates, 3:10 to Yuma, 3 Days to kill and a few others without any audio jumping and video dragging  or sluggish. Some movies that do not have fast action scenes and insane graphics can play on with not much audio issues again 10-15 minutes of play.
MC 23.0.73: You could see the audio jumping and video moving forward so slow just within the first 2 seconds of play, even on 50 First Dates and movies , all that will normally play fairly well under MC 23.0.70.
It looks that much of the tweaked internal settings for 23.0.73 did not improve on playback.
In summary, the performance of MC 23.0.73: It is worse than that of MC 23.0.70.

Now going back to Windows 64 bit DLNA setting. comparing the options and settings:
Generic - audio- original, video - specified output format, Format: mkv/aac xXXX
The smart tvs can play the movie .
Sony: Audio- Specified output when neccessary, Format PCM L16 No header
Video - Original.
The above settings I use for watching movies, and at the moment No issues.. Movies play perfect.

With Amd64 version, I tried to have a carbon copy of the Win64 set up, at this point the Generic will display :can not play video.I have to use Video - Original, audio -Original for the Sony version to even start to play a video.
Also in the Windows platform.. Options Files we could use external program to play movies. I did it in the past old version by loading Cyberlink and a few third party programs, can we do this in the Linux version?
I know that option is not available in the Linux distros.

Well, my take about these issues is that there is an incorrect timing, audio not in alignment with video, (video clock).

Interesting. It's worth noting that I don't have Media Network enabled (or any of the disablable features found under General) on my two Linux distros with MC. Also is that why sometimes (using ALSA or Pulse doesn't seem to matter) when pressing stop it "glitches" for a moment before stopping (meaning it doesn't always stop gracefully)? That's something else that's happened since day one and always wondered about it. Doesn't always happen, but does sometimes when stopping playback - just wondering if that's something that could be avoided.

Just upgraded Ubuntu 17.04 to 17.10 with no problems for MC 23.0.73. Chose the automatic upgrade from Ubuntu. BTW this also fixed my autocomplete problem when typing info in fields using TAG.
