Amazon Country setting not persistent

When I change the country from "Auto" to "Germany" neither does the Amazon webpage (in services & Plug-Ins) change to the German site, nor does the country setting stay on "Germany". After restarting MC it's back to "Auto".

Any ideas on how to solve this?
