Converting to 8X DSD
« on: October 15, 2017, 09:52:19 pm »

Hi Expert,

I get a trial version of 64 bit. I play with oppo UDP 205 as DAC. I try to enjoy MC 23 with output coding with DSD (from DSD to 8xDSD) in Asio. However, it is lag, delay much when I play with wav, flac,.. files except Dsd files. So in case of this, I have to configure MC 23 with Kernel stream in DoP. Play with Kernel in DoP will be not the best solutions with MC, right ?
Could you let me know how to configure MC 23 to run well with ASIO DSD output coding in my Oppo UDP 205 ?

Thanks.

While I am no expert, I think bitstreaming DSD would be the best solution. You can set it in audio options. Then you hand over the untouched DSD stream to the Oppo.
Upsampling DSD to 8xDSD has an intermediate PCM conversion, so it's DSD->PCM->8xDSD (IIRC).

Thank for advice. However my oppo 205 option is not the same option in you mind. This can be MC does not support Asio for Oppo 205.

Yep, I agree bitstreaming DSD would be the best solution (and not converting everything to 8xDSD).

The Oppo might not have 64-bit ASIO drivers available. I'd suggest contacting them and asking them if they do. Otherwise, does ASIO work if you're using the 32-bit version of Media Center?

Hi,

I have checked with 32 bit version. That why I move to 64 bit version with hoping that 64 bit can solve well this problem. However it still is hopeless.
