Layoffs at ABC

It looks like streaming isn't the only thing that struggles https://splinternews.com/layoffs-hit-abc-as-rumors-about-the-networks-future-swi-1819436769

DarkPenguin:
Layoffs are a way of life. When JRiver laid me off Matt held me and Jim beat me with a rubber hose. There is a quiet dignity to that compared to some of the ones I've seen.

marko:
You're the stack man. Always will be. Thanks for that :)

Think I'm a baw-hair from being laid off too, which, after 30 years, is something I find a bit daunting.

JimH:
I've had to lay people off in the past, when things slowed down.  It's no fun for anyone.

Most of the time, the economy is the reason behind it.  Political instability doesn't help.

Usually, the person leaving goes on to something good.  Our old developer, Steve, became a minister, something he had always thought about doing.

At nearly 73, I'm waiting for the axe to fall.  I'm lucky that the JRemote crowd doesn't have voting rights.

Good luck, Mark!  Go get 'em!

marko:
Cheers Jim. For us, it's the 'yoof'! No-one under the age of 30 buys a newspaper now :(

Our customers are dying, while the yoof rely on (and trust :o) Facebook and Twitter to keep them updated.
