CD RIP Produces every track twice
« on: October 16, 2017, 08:18:46 pm »

Wonder if anyone has seen this. On ripping audio CD's to MC I often (but not always) get every track listed twice.

So looking at the album in MC, the track listing gives:

Track1
Track1
Track2
Track2
Track3
Track3
etc.

The files are all play twice in their entirety as per the track listing.

Importantly the tracks are not actually ripped twice as the files on disk are only created once. It is just JRiver MC that lists them duplicated. It also sends them as duplicated to any associated DLNA controller (for example JRemote or Cambridge CA Connect).

I rip files the same way to the same library and location in the same format, but I don't always get this problem. For example it happened for every CD in my Beatles Black Box collection, but other Beatles CD's are fine.

Any idea what might cause this?

Thanks

Make sure you're using the latest 23.0.72 build, I seem to recall this was an issue with earlier MC23 builds (and hopefully was fixed).

I am now but I don't think I was when I ripped the music.

Presumably I can just delete the extraneous tracks from within MC, or are there other side effects that indicate I should delete and re-rip?

Cheers
