Issues playing Ripped UHD
« on: December 14, 2017, 01:39:41 pm »

So I’ve got the latest JRiver and it plays all my ripped Bluray disks perfectly.
Coming to the UHD disks it just gives an error “failed to open or phrase files hr=0x80004005)

If I go into the folder manually I’ll have to go to BDMV, then Stream and then manually choose the largest .M2TS file (usually 00000 or 00001) and right click to open with JRiver it plays fine.

Now I’ve got windows media player classic with K-lite codec pack installed and it has no issues playing the same files when choosing the parent folder.

Is there any update expected to fix this issue?

Any help/suggestions would be appercepted.

Thank you

More discussion in regarding UHD and BD Menus in this thread - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,112208.50.html

Hendrik has commented that UHD playback in MC will be introduced when a new version of LAV Filters is out.  For now you can use the latest LAV Nightly, https://files.1f0.de/lavf/nightly/ , install it and copy/preplace the files from this install into C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 23\Plugins.  It all works with the excpetion that it does not show (and hence let you select) BD Titles, but will play the main title and show/select the streams as with normal BD.
