I am trying a different capture card, it's one of these - http://www.magewell.com/usb-capture-hdmi-plus

It appears to jriver as a device under the "camera" type.

The problem is I get no audio. The filter graph shows it is connected to the onboard audio while the magewell utility shows there is audio in the stream (see pic).

Any idea what I need to configure to tell jriver to pick up the device audio instead?

I realised the capture card appears as a windows audio device so setting that as the default audio device means the audio is now played back by jriver

Is it possible for configure jriver to pick the audio device so I don't have to set it as the default recording device? or could the configuration screen be enhanced to expose this?

The device is treated as a "Camera" device because it does not provide an interface for us to select an input (audio or video).

Most other video players let you choose which audio device to use along with the video device rather than just picking the default device. This would be a sensible enhancement imv.
