If you do the following;

- start MC server
- connect an MC client
- allow the server to go to sleep but leave the MC client open/awake
- attempt to play something in the MC client

the client will fail to play as it will not wake the MC server

If you now restart the MC client, it will wake the MC server in order to connect to it and playback can continue.

The request is to allow the MC client to send that wake signal without a restart.
