Sleep issues
« on: October 14, 2017, 08:23:09 am »

Hi all. I've just recently come back to using MC (recently upgraded from 16 to 23).

Everything is working very well, but I cannot get my PC to automatically sleep when MC is open or has been opened. Running powercfg shows that MC seems to be requesting [DRIVER] \Filesystem\srvnet and once requested it's permanent.

I have tried disabling all features/remote control etc. but it doesn't help. I also don’t want to disable \Filesystem\srvnet requests as my HTPC also serve as a NAS and (AFAIK) these power requests are needed to keep the PC awake during file transfers etc.

Any ideas for a workaround if this is expected behaviour or is it a possible bug?

Just to follow-up on this in case anyone else experiences the same thing. I believe it was down to a Windows 10 issue (not entirely surprising as MS seem to keep breaking various things related to power management...) and appears to have been fixed as of build 1709.

I assume it was something to do with the OS not releasing expired srvnet power requests.

Odd. I've had MC V22 and 23 running on a Win 10 system since 1511, now on 1709. Never had problems with it initiating sleep.
