Configure 'View Only' On An External Library
« on: September 11, 2017, 04:33:10 am »

Hi

I can access and play my MC22 library over the internet.  Is there any way of configuring it as a pseudo-"read-only" library for other users (much like an online catalogue of my music, offered by other servers such as Madsonic, Subsonic etc.)?

TIA

DDJ :)

You can set up Read Only Authentication on the MC Server as well. But I'm not sure that functionality is complete.

Search the forum for discussion. Test it out.

Thanks JimH

The users functionality wasn't really what I was after as it still allows the users to play the files you specify and apparently still gives them full control at the OS level.  I was after an option that only allows users to view the media but not play/alter/delete/change/copy it in any way.

Thanks
