Media Library contents and syncing

:oAfter many hours of resolving how to recover my Ipod from not being able to sync with my Ipod I have been able to resume the process. However in Media Library I have both cda and mp3 formats. On syncing it tries to copy over cda files!

Can I delete cda files from media library without any future problems (eg if I change me computer?). Also despite the fact that I have mps files the sync process appears to go through the encoding process again?
