Views - Moving, Copying, Dragging & Dropping

Some weird behaviour in views:

When I try to move any of my library views around I get a 30-60 second beachball and then the action fails without an error (i.e. it's like I hadn't done the action).

Also - making a new "Panes" view gives me an album view, which I then have to customize to change to Panes.
