Trouble waking up computer
pilotsanon:
I have an imac running ios Lion and a iPhone SE. i currently use TeamViewer on my iphone to remote into my mac often and will be getting JRemote soon. Up til now i have had to plan ahead of time and just make sure my mac was set to “never sleep” in order for me to be able to access it during the day from work. I do have the checkbox checked for “awake for network access” but it has never allowed me to remote in once the computer goes to sleep.
Now that i am making the jump to the JRemote and will be wanting to stream music from my home library while at work, i want to fix this issue so i dont have to leave the computer running all day every day. I feel that will be too much stress on the computer
Can anyone help me? I just want to know if there is something in settings on the computer or in JRemote/TeamViewer i am missing or do i need to download additional software to allow me to wake up my computer remotely?

I don't know how much you know about the subject, but here's a topic on Wake on LAN.

There are apps that you can download to test if it is working on the server.

Thank you. I was looking at some iphone apps. Its hard to know which ones you can trust to be secure and which ones can open the door to hackers. Do you use any WOL apps and could you suggest one?
