Is there a way to move the SEARCH field, or even hide it? I have not found a use for it, yet I'm struggling to avoid Search when I really mean to use Add.
When I'm working in a long-ish field such as Keywords, the Add field often gets pushed out of sight, leaving the Search field sitting there. When I click to Add, I end up in Search, a very different thing. When I try to scroll to bring Add into view, it is difficult/clumsy. I then have to expand the Tag box from half-height to full-height, which covers up the tree I'm using to navigate. Arghh.
Two wishes:
- Allow Search to be hidden or located somewhere else in the Tag box.
- Allow Tag box to be resized, not just half or full height. Even better is to allow it to float.

Hi there,
I think I'm missing something really basic here. I have been using MC for well over a decade and I just loaded MC24 onto a new pc. I have a custom preset I use to view my audio files because I have a lot of custom tagging. It used to be that when I hit alt-enter on a file, the tag action window would show just the tags of my preset view. With this new tag window, I can't figure out how to activate that functionality any longer. I tried customizing the audio template for the tag view and I clearly deleted some essential tag because I got nothing in the tag action view when I saved the audio template which I assume means that for some reason once I edited down the template, my mp3 files were no longer a match even though file type is one of the fields in my template. What am I missing here?
Thanks,
Suzie

As a temporary workaround (since nobody knows how long the old tag window will remain) you can press and hold Shift while right clicking on media > Tag option to open it in the old tag window. It *should* keep using the old tag window as long as it remains an option in the app, and you can toggle back to the new tag window by doing the same thing.

True, but Suzie was sooo close...
My advice would be...
Go back to where you tried to customise the audio template...
Top right, there's a "Manage" button, click that, then choose the bottom option "Reset All Templates to Default". (To fix anything you might have broken earlier)
Next, make sure you're working on the "Audio" template (check it shows "Audio" top left, use the dropdown list to choose audio if it does not).
Click the "Add" button.
Choose "Visible Fields" from the menu
OK your way out.
You should now see a "Visible fields" group in your tag window. Expand that, and it should be job done.
