RaspPI: What would be the best audio setup SQ wise

Hello,
JRiver (23.0.84) is currently installed on a RaspPI 3 with an HifiBerry Digi+ Pro connected to an external DAC. JRiver Lib is sitting on an HTPC (x64, 23.0.91). I have used JRiver on RaspPI as a library client and as a DLNA renderer. As anybody found any differences SQ wise in using either setup's? As a side question has anybody found any differences stability wise (hicups, stuttering, etc.)
