.ass files (subtitles) displayed too small...

(1/2) > >>

Antoine.:
Hi,

I use JRiver MC22 on W10 PCs.

How is it that MPC-HC can read .ass files (subtitles) and display them at the proper size, while MC22 makes them appear minuscule, unreadable?

Thanks,

Antoine

RoderickGI:
Have you had a look at the settings under;
Options > Video > Subtitles & Language

Set the font, color, and size you want.

Also, you searched the Wiki, didn't you?

Antoine.:
Thanks for your answer.

These settings don't allow you to change the font size to a value other than 12, so this part is useless. Furthermore, the point of the ass files is that the files is choosing the font style & size (among other things) so it should work regardless a proper size is set or not.

All other types of subs (srt, sub&idx, etc.) work fine... and these specific subs (V4+ versions of .ass, apparently, I'm not an expert, I'm just reading the file) work properly with other software, so my bet would be on a problem with MC22.

The Wiki are not helpful.

I too prefer a large .ass to a small .ass.

Just saying... (cos someone had to!)  :-\

Matt:
The setting Video > Subtitles & Language > Subtitle size should work for .ass files.
