Video: Play a certain segment from video files
« on: January 09, 2018, 10:28:15 am »

Hi

I'm trying to create some kind of play list where the entries play only a certain segment from video files. To explain it a bit better we can use the classic films The Pink Panther as an example. At one time in all the films there is a scene where Inspector Clouseau is attacked by his manservant Cato.

What I would like is some kind of play list that jumps between all these films and playback only a specific time. Is it possible?

Many thanks in advance

yes you can create a particle from a particular file, this gives you another library item pointing at the same file which means you can edit the tags on this new item independently. Set the range tag to the playback range and perhaps also update name & media subtype (e.g. I use test clip as the subtype for this use case along with use of season/series to create a view that is grouped accordingly)

See https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Particles for info on particles

Hi Mattkhan

I did a quick try with a video file and it seem to work perfect! Thanks a lot for such a quick help.

Cheers
