DSD streaming downconverts to 176

Ok, thanks.

One more thing - I've been looking everywhere for the setting that would eliminate the fade in at the beginning of playing back a track, but have not found any reference to that in the wiki.

JimH:
It's the Track Transition setting under Audio.

tonereef:
If you mean Track Change, I have it set to gapless, but tracks still fade in over maybe half a second or so. Really want to get rid of that!

I've also set Seek to gapless and Stop and Pause to Immediate.

tonereef:
Back to the question of the option of upconverting PCM files to either 1xDSD or 2xDSD: wouldn't there just be one conversion in MC for either of these processes for PCM files? So that's ok, but then the question is, is there some setting where DSD files are still going to be played back as DSD64 or DSD128 DoP (whatever they are natively)? I currently have Bitstreaming set for Yes, which should do this, right? If I set Output Encoding from none to 1xDSD what happens to DSD64 files - are they left alone, or converted to PCM and back to DSD? And what happens to DSD128 files - are they converted via PCM to DSD64?

tonereef:
Or is the only solution to have two settings - no output processing when playing DSD and PCM files, and either 1x or 2xDSD as an option for playing PCM files?
