In the meantime, i found this thread https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=104699.0 (where you also where involved) where several people had posted exact the same problem AND they got help to get it working

so PLEASE provide such a solution also to me

You should try the final build of MC22 QNAP which uses a MC23 linux/master license.
http://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v22/latest/MediaCenter22_22.0.114_x86_64.qpkg
or
one of the Docker container solutions which allow you to run MC23 (search for docker in the MC23 forum).

hello bob and thanks for your support(attempt) ;-)
to give a short response in the meantime:
desperately this "114" version also did not work as expected - after entering the serial the app aborts and next time trying, again the entering is requested.
i asume: due to also entering a wrong serial but following the correct string format (wrong format leads to an error and leads you back to entering page again) leads to abort - the 2nd step of the input validation has a bug

so, my question:

(alongside my efforts on trying a possible docker solution)

is there a possibility to maintain the serial via putty/commandline directly into the respective file, to avoid the browser operation on the surface?

Awesome Donkey:
If you have the .mjr license file (which is generated after you restore a license and sent to your email address), try restoring your license from the Terminal instead. Simply open the Terminal and type in...

--- Code: ---mediacenter22 /RestoreFromFile FULLPATHTO.mjr
--- End code ---

The easiest way to get the full path is to simply drag and drop the .mjr file into the Terminal. Just make sure there's a space after /RestoreFromFile (and before the path to the .mjr file) or else it'll not work. Otherwise they *should* get your MC22 licensed.

Hello Awesome Donkey, first of all, thank you for your support and i think we're approaching but a bit of linux something is still to fix:

on trying your command, the following occurrs:

error while loading shared libraries: libcryptlib.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

a " find . -name libcryptlib.so" shows -> ./share/CACHEDEV8_DATA/.qpkg/MediaCenter22/opt/MediaCenter22/usr/lib/jriver/Media Center 22/libcryptlib.so

so: it it possible that a path something is missing?

ok: after executing a "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" for two further libraries: libXrandr.so.2 and libGL.so.1, the ..RestoreFromFile command led to a "Segmentation Fault" (a asume worst case :-( )

JimH:
We no longer recommend installing MC on the QNAP devices.
