any benefit from w10 to Linux'
« on: January 29, 2018, 10:58:33 am »

i am happily using JRiver with windows10  since a couple of years so far. I am tempted to try Linux and check IF I can experience any sonic benefits (there are audiphile lunatics that swear about HUGE difference in favout of Linux, using Daphile. OK, befor using Daphile I want to check if the OS is jeopardize the sound: I am convinced that ASIO or WASAPi driver does the job of getting rid of the W10 influence but I am open to hear educated opinions about this.
JRver is invaluable as library management, Dphile is really crappy (and does not have any DSP support)

I use Windows 10, Mac and Linux and I don't hear a difference between any of them. Likely reason being if you're outputting bit-perfect audio (no DSP) it'll sound the same regardless of OS. If you're happy with Windows 10, just stick with that, IMO. Why fix what's not broken?

IMHO, I wouldn't bother with "audiophile" OSes either.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.
