TV Recording Limit
« on: June 16, 2003, 12:21:45 pm »

If I record a TV program (from the right mouse menu "Start TV Recording"), the recording stops after exactly 1 hour.

Is this a bug or a feature that can be adjusted ?

(I'm recording in DIVX 5.05 standard)

Quite some time ago this was configurable. Your one hour time limit may be the result of your setting it then. This interface was removed in consideration of simplifying the configuration process (it's a flexibility versus simplicity thing). In most recent builds of MC, the time limit is set at 3 hours. So if you do a Reset, you should be able to get rid of the one hour limit (and change it to three hours).

The three hour limit is used so the program will not use up all your disk space in case you forget to stop recording. If you do not even like the three hour limit, you will have to hack the registry to change it. Look for values "Use TimeLimit" (boolean) and "TimeLimit" (number of seconds) under "TV Settings" key.

The registry hack did the trick :-)
