Ideas for taskbar
« on: June 15, 2003, 10:52:25 pm »

Would it be possible to have a toolbar option on minimize, a la WMP? Maybe with a simple spectrum bar visualization in it like Winamp?

(very crude, but you get the idea?)

I do a lot of stuff while listening to mp3 collections, and having a little control bar like that down in task bar would be sweeet! (I wouldn't have to cover part of the screen with a mini-me or lose track of what's going on in some of the windows I use.)

Take a look at this thread:

There are instructions from me and NoCodeUK on how to create your own toolbar. I included icon files and shortcuts to help out.

Maybe a useful extension to the taskbar buttons Phil Lee postet above: "ButtonBar 2.9", a little tool that can be used to create a small toolbar with your own buttons (and much more...). It can be configured in a way that it is unvisible and "flips out" only when you touch the upper right corner of your desktop. Together with the buttons Phil Lee postet it can look like this, for example:

"ButtonBar 2.9" is freeware until you don't use it to display more than 10 buttons...it can be downloaded here: http://www.uwe-sieber.de/bbar_e.html

Nice buttons, Phil!!

Now, if only there were a command-line argument that synched an iPod.  I could put it on my taskbar too!

Nice little button util there. I've switched over to it already and freed up some space on my taskbar. in the process. I wonder if there's anyway of designing a mini-me skin that looked like that toolbar and autohide too? That would solve a lot of problems.

Yeah, a small Mini-ME with a skin that makes it about the thinkness of the menu bars, that one could put, in auto hidemode, or regular mode, at the top of your screen.  Like to old Office tool bar.
