Issues with new IdPi card
« on: August 02, 2018, 02:07:43 am »

I have a new IdPi card that has just arrived.
When using it my Pi starts fine but MC doesn't. A black dialog box pops up that has an "OK" button.
If there is text in it I can't read it because it's all black.
I tried it in a couple of Pis with the same results.
I was able to upgrade using 12 from 24.0.6 to 24.0.7 but same results.
Bad card?
Any thought on how this may be fixed.

Try option 77 from the main menu to see if that resolves the issue.

After typing 77 I was prompted to choose yes or no to something about keeping current files.
When selecting 'No' the results were the same. No MC.
This morning I tried 77 but selected 'Yes' when prompted. This worked and MC opened.
Once MC started to work the Id accepted my registration code.

So all appears well for now.

Thanks

Your card should be fine. I was able to reproduce this problem. Something likely interrupted Media Center's first time initialization, like rebooting or something that terminates Media Center (entering the Id license). When Media Center restarts, it can't find the default skin. Option 77 forces it to run that first time initialization again. We will make a fix so that first time initialization can't be interrupted so easily.
