Can I just copy the MC23 plugins into the MC24 directory or there is a way to download a set of updated ones?

And, yes I think I've been a little bit rude and maybe I am the donkey here, sorry for that...

Also make sure that the user running MC24 is the owner of the directory tree and that it's writeable. For example:

--- Code: ---touch ~/.jriver/Media\ Center\ 24/Plugins/linux_avcodec64/foo
--- End code ---
should return without an error.

sergioz:
Ok, solved.

First things first: my bad.
When I've installed MC24 the settings of the firewall was very strong and aggressive and the same when some day ago I tried to play a video files.
I've just  read in the forum how a similar situation was handled so I just tried to play a video file with the firewall not so aggressive and MC 24 downloaded quietly the updated libav codec plug-ins. Now all is played quiete well and I noticed that with the updated codecs MC24 correctly identify the number of channels of the wav dts files that MC23 did not :-)

Thank you so much ALL of you for your patience :-)
