Small feature request
« on: May 02, 2018, 03:10:10 am »

Hi all, I use the 'Audio Analysis' smartlist to see what newly imported files need analysis. It would be nice if there was a button at the top next to the play, refresh, edit that was 'Analyse All'. When pressed it would select all the files, load the audio analysis window and start the process.

Hoping Matt is in a good mood again or did Glynor wear him out with his requests :)

The only hitch with this is that's there's really no way for Media Center to know you're looking at the audio analysis smartlist.

So it would have to put an Analyze button at the top of every smartlist.

Not sure if that's a good idea or not?

What if you allowed users to add custom buttons to smartlists? A lot more work I know.

It seems unnecessary when you can have Media Center automatically analyze files via auto-import (even if that doesn't apply to podcasts for some reason).

It literally takes a little over a second to currently analyze the files in a list:

Press Ctrl+A to select all the files
Right Click the files
Click Analyze Audio (Go to Options > Tree & View > Advanced and set "Right click recent command count" to 8 )
Click Analyze

You could add a Send To button on the Toolbar and possibly setup a Send To that analyzes the audio using the Media Center Core Commands.

You can also use the following:
Ctrl+A to select all the files
Windows Key + R to bring up the Run command
Enter mc24.exe /mcc 23005 the first time and press Enter. After that it will be pre-filled unless you use Run for other stuff.
Click Analyze (or press Enter if the button is already selected)

Great options mojave. Thanks for the reply. And that is what I do.

But in my opinion why have 'Play, Refresh and Edit' buttons in this smartlist when you will never use them. MC is getting much more streamlined and the interface is getting cleaner and they seem a throw back to MC ~18.
