More burning issues
« on: June 11, 2003, 01:05:55 am »

I am running 9.0.180, and can't burn audio CDs, due to the "Invalid field in CDb" error, which has been reported by other users.

I've tried dropping the burn speed to 4X, and also unchecking the "direct decoding" option.  When I do this, the "Invalid field in CDb" error does not occur, but the burn still fails.  After about 5 minutes of near-system-freeze conditions, the CD gets ejected for no apparent reason, and Media Center remains frozen, until I kill it using Task Manager.

I also get this behavior, mentioned in another thread quite awhile ago:

Also now getting weird interaction with this build... If I select an album and send to burner (by any of the methods) I get the albums tracks listed twice... If I then delete one track from the end it deletes both versions in the queue !! Eg an album 1 - 10 tracks ends up with a queue 1 - 20 running 1 - 10 and then repeating (not interleaving) if I delete track 20 it removes track 20 and track 10 so I only have 18 left...

Turn on MC's logging for CD burning by changing the value of this registry key from zero (0) to one (1):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Media Jukebox\CD Writer\Logger

Then just start up Media Center and try to burn a CD (you can leave test mode checked to avoid creating a coaster). Then exit MC and find a file in the MC program directory called "cdwriter.log" and email that to me. Remember that the log file is overwritten each time you start up MC, so you must send the file before restarting MC.

Thanks!
