I have read https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=102260.0 but still unable to find the expanation for :-

Source and destination specified the named channels upon which the mode operates. There are 5 modes, each of which provides some explanatory text:

Copy (replace destination with source)
Move (replace destination with source and empty source)
Swap (swap source and destination)
Add (add source to destination)
Subtract (subtract source from destination)
another way to think of this is invert polarity of source and add to destination


I am trying to convert all multichannels to 4.0 and send them to Motu 24Ao as follows:-

FR          Channel 2
RL          Channel 3
RR          Channel 4
FL          Channel 5
FR          Channel 6
FL          Channel 7
FR          Channel 8
FL          Channel 9
FR          Channel 10

Do I use copy, move or swap?

basic process will be

- use whatever mix strategy you want to create your 4 output channels
- copy those channels to the final destination channels

it's hard to give a more specific answer without knowing how you intend to do step 1 though

I relied on those links which you provided. I wanted to know the difference between:-

Copy and Add.

Is ADD (add source to destination) means the source will not be there for subsequent routing?

add will leave the source untouched, the destination will contain the sum of what was already there (if anything) and the source channel
