DLNA server to Yamaha Amp - audio only
« on: June 14, 2018, 02:39:50 pm »

Hi Guys,
Got a couple of Yamaha receiver/amps which are moderately clever, have a DLNA client in there, which works well with JRiverMC-22, for streaming various formats of audio in 5.1, nice.
However, much of my 5.1 music is on DVD, blu-ray, DVD-A, etc.
Those play moderately well in the desktop, but no go on the yamaha dlna client.
I can understand DVDs not working, because they have stupid menus you have to navigate through, grr, but some others might work with just the audio streams...
Any suggestions?

Hmm, that's one option, which I've edged towards with some great little mini-pc devices, wintel-w8pro, very small procesor, (and cheaper than chips!) but enough to drive HD and 5.1 audio through hdmi, but i was looking for a slicker option...i may not get one, but if I don't ask...!
