Is it possible to download the latest version of madvr 0.92.14 or do I create problems?

The latest version has issues with subtitles and Blu-ray menus in Media Center, which is why we don't use it and wait for a fixed version.

Hey Hendrik, is there any workaround for the subtitles situation?
The subtitles show if you pause the movie which shows the JRiver timeline.

Is there anything that could be done to solve this? at least as a temporary fix?

There is a later Test Version of madVR that madshi posted in this AVS Thread. It has the fix for the off screen menu text that you could try if you can not wait for madshi to release the next version.

I never had a problem with menus, my problem is with subtitles. The subtitles only show up when some On Screen overlay of JRiver is showing, like the time line bar.
This is using MadVR and playing a full bluray or UHD Bluray with menus.

Is this actually a Madvr bug? Since the subtitles are still rendered but only show when JRiver is showing the timeline or is paused?

That is the same bug, just a different symptom of it.

FYI - I was wrong about it being fixed in the test builds over at AVS. Just tested the latest madVR build and subs are still not being drawn on the screen during normal playback

Also, the madvr display mode changer doesn't work correctly in that version (v0.92.14)

This was a bug, ID0000073, Display Mode is not restored when playback is stopped in JRiver Media Center, that was supposedly fixed back in v0.86.3, but it is present in 0.92.14.

Also FYI, in response to an earlier post about the subtitle problem, which is another "old" bug that has come back, v0.92.11 is the most recent version that shows subtitles correctly. The bug was re-introduced in v0.92.12.

I kept the most recent LAV filters and downgraded MadVR to 92.11 and everything seems ok.

Yes, it should fix the problem. I'm currently evaluating and testing it, and will include it in MC if it checks out. There will probably be a follow up build of madVR with a few small fixes, thats usually how it goes.

No clue. We don't recommend using it with MC, instead let MC change the modes.

Thanks for the update. Since this is a madvr thread, I always meant to ask you Hendrik, why is it that for the madvr/lav combination, frame-packed 3D is not available on Windows 7?

I know for a fact frame-packed 3D works on Win7x64, at least for AMD cards. Stereoscopic Player does it fine.

Why can't madvr/lav do it?

It relies on the OS to have 3D support, which Windows 7 does not have.

Ah, I see. That's too bad it can't be implemented for the different card families. I noticed Stereoscopic Player had different 3D options, for AMD, Nvidia, and Intel graphics. That must be why...
