I'm looking to move my music library onto an external SSD, in order to both keep space free on the Mac and to have it stored somewhere safe should the Mac be stolen. Will JRiver easily sync with the external drive? Is there any tips for transitioning smoothly?

My plan is to 'Rename and Move' within JRiver to the attached drive so J River can change the drive letter etc itself. I just wonder if it will easily pick up the drive when detaching/attaching and allow everything in the library to play. An issue I can forsee is perhaps the SSD may 'modify' the files, which JRiver will then not recognize.
