I've been updating JRiver for years, but can't figure out how to update to the latest version without installing it parallel to the older version on my computer, manually configuring everything in the new version, and then deleting the old version.  I just bought a MAC upgrade to 24 to 23 and face the same problem.  Can someone help me update where all my libraries, settings, etc. are automatically updated to 24?  Many thanks in advance.

Did you install MC24?  Does it run?

What version of OSX are you using?

Thumbnail sketch of the update process:

- In MC23 make a backup of the library (database):  File > Library > Backup Library.  Make note of what FOLDER this goes into.  Close MC23.
- Install MC24.  This will indeed be a "parallel installation", but that's not a problem or anything.   
- Open MC24.  Cancel the automatic "find everything" process in the lower left corner.
- Restore the library (database) backup you just made.  File > Library > Restore Library
-- Make sure to navigate to the folder from above where the backup file is
-- Choose both check boxes:  The one for library and the one for settings.

After that finishes, it will say so and tell you to restart MC24.  Restart MC24.  You should be good to go from there.
