Cover art - Get from Internet not retrieving anything
rippolito:
I am running MediaCenter version 24.0.42. I have been ripping my CD collection, using a program called Max, whose job it is to make identical copies of the music files. I am having the music files output in Flac format, and stored on an external drive. I have Media Center watch the main file, and auto import the ripped files: this all works well.
I am having problems with one aspect of this workflow, namely, the cover art. I have the option set to automatically get the cover art, but it does not work: it retrieves nothing. Even when I manually use Tools > Cover Art > Get from internet, it doesn't find anything.
Can anyone please help me troubleshoot this problem?
Thank you in advance...be well
Ron
RolandG:
The files' metadata tags for Album, Artist and Album Artist are all correct?
rippolito:
Max is filling in the 'artist', and the 'album' fields: it is not filling in 'album artist' (by the way, what is the difference between 'artist' and 'album artist').
As an example, I just ripped Robert Plant's lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar. The tags are as follows...
-album Lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar
-artist Robert Plant
-album artist
The cover art did not get retrieved from the internet.

PS - doe anyone know where MediaCenter looks for the cover art?
RolandG:
Then try it with an album where you filled in the Album Artist tag.
The difference is e.g. in compilations; there you have songs by different artists, so there is no one album artist. A normal album has usually one album artist, but some songs can have additional artists (duets e.g.).

Same problem here.
I have been using JRiver for several years (22.0.88 currently) and the issue just appeared perhaps a month ago. Tagging seems to work fine, and I can manually add cover art, but it will no longer retrieve art from the Internet.
