You can try opening an elevated (meaning run as administrator) Command Prompt or PowerShell, and use the following commands...

sfc /scannow
If that completes fine, try this next one...

Code: [Select]
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
See if that helps any.

Yes I have done that but as I say all the buttons are greyed out, I cant turn it on.

Your not logged in as an Administrator.

I have this same thing on my work computer - where I am a "User" and not authorized to make changes or access some settings.

Error 577 is usually caused by having some antivirus software installed on your machine even if not running. Go through your installed programs looking for any possible AV programs, spybot is a common cause. Malwarebytes won't cause this problem so you don't need to uninstall that one.

I have done that, its clean there is hardly anything in add and remove progs as this PC is only for my HT, i dont use it for anything else. The only progs I have are to run JR.
