MC24 won't start (macOS High Sierra 10.13.6)
bodiebill:
Since yesterday, MC24 won't start on my iMac with macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. The MC icon just bounces for 45 secs and then halts with 'app not responding'. I un- and re-installed it, but to no avail. I cannot activate or check logging as I cannot enter the program, but when I start with the terminal I see a bunch of warnings like:
objc[2549]: Class JRNSView is implemented in both /Applications/Media Center 24.app/Contents/MacOS/./Media Center 24 (0x107979070) and /Applications/Media Center 24.app/Contents/MacOS/./libJRDisc.dylib (0x10d6fd7e0). One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined.
MC23 runs without problems. Any advise?
bodiebill:
anyone? I'm stuck :-|
JimH:

Also, those warnings are not important.
If you are running the current build Jim pointed out and it still doesn't work you should get a crash dump. Please attach that to a message here.

Thanks! I am indeed using 24.0.45. I tried again to un- and re-install. When starting MC24 it seemed to have crashed again, but I gave it more time and after 4 minutes the program finally opened. I then noticed that there was still a view with calculated fields that read the folder and file structure for the whole 5TB database. After removing that view, it seems to run ok, so fingers crossed...
By the way, where can I find the zip file with the crash dump?
