Hmm, I keep on getting
--- Code: ---Gtk-Message: 12:29:21.011: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
--- End code ---
with this and the previous version (which was the first MC Linux I ever used, so...). Linux Mint 19 Tara.
Thanks!

Awesome Donkey:
Any reproducible steps you're using to get it to crash? I'm also assuming you're using the Cinnamon desktop environment? There was some crash issues with Linux Mint's default Cinnamon desktop environment a few builds ago, but it was fixed in 24.0.46 beta. Maybe it's a new crash issue...
P.S. You can ignore the Gtk-Message warning part.

It seems to crash entirely randomly with no input from the user needed. Yep, I'm on Cinnamon.

In previous stable versions of MC I was no longer experiencing any micro dropouts with my rpi after upgrading to Stretch. However with version 52 the random micro audio drop outs are back. Is this version more intensive on memory?
Yes, because of the browsing capabilities.
Did you try setting thread priorities?
