Reproduction problems of wav files
« on: September 23, 2018, 12:07:48 pm »

I ripped my cds using JRiver. My DAP cannot reproduce the wav files (the files are not recognised as music files)
I ve noticed that the extension used by JRiver was wv instead of wav I changed the extenions to wav (for ll ripped cds) but the problem remains
My DAP is the FiiO X5 3rd generation
Does any body can help me
Thank you in advance

Sounds like you ripped them to WavPack (which uses the .wv extension) instead of WAV. Try changing the encoder setting from WavPack to Uncompressed WAV (which is the only WAV option, I believe). For existing files, you'll probably have to convert them to Uncompressed WAV however if you want compressed lossless files I'd suggest using FLAC instead to save some space. Pretty sure a FiiO device supports FLAC - almost everything outside of iDevices does these days.
