UFW firewall settings for JRiver networking

(1/2) > >>

drmimosa:
UFW (uncomplicated firewall for linux https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Uncomplicated_Firewall) prevents JRiver DLNA networking and playback. Turning the firewall service on and off corresponds to success and failure of playback.

I tried opening port 52199 to outgoing and incoming traffic. DLNA devices show up, but still no playback. Any suggestions?

Here are what my rules look like:

To        Action  From
52199  Allow    Anywhere
52199(v6) Allow   Anywhere (v6)
52199  Allow Out   Anywhere
52199(v6) Allow Out  Anywhere (v6)

JimH:
Open 52100 to 52200.

SSDP on 1900 also needs to be open.

Usually there is no need to block outbound access.

Added these rules. Worked, immediately.

Thank you.

Hello!

I know this is an older post, but I have the same problem as ”drmimosa” had before.

I’ve tried to add rules to UFW via GUI (see attachment below; I’m sure I butchered it though).

Couple years back I somehow managed to add the right rules, but right now I’m clueless.

Any ideas guys?
