Library Transfer

(1/2) > >>

tasar:
Long time user from version 16. Recently upgraded after the break-in, backed up previous 21 library and tried a restore or import to the newest 24. No dice, never a smooth transition. Remember insiders quipping how this operation has been improved. Don’t understand how in the same piece of software one can’t simply import existing libraries seamlessly. Tell me there’s a trick please.

JimH:
Backup in MC21.  Restore in MC24.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this the process I would use when transferring my library to/on another computer? I ask because what keeps happening when I do this is that I loose all of the tagging on my SACD single file ISO rips. IE the ones where the tagging cannot be imbedded in the file itself.

What do I need to do to make sure that my new library, tagging, artwork and all looks just like it did on my previous computer?

Thanks.

Awesome Donkey:
In general with MC24 you can enable and use sidecar files to store metadata, which works great for saving metadata for SACD ISOs that otherwise couldn't really be saved easily. But sidecar support for SACD ISOs was only just added in MC24 and doesn't work with previous MC versions below 24.

xj32:
Thanks,

So how do i do this?
