Hi all

i did a search and there indeed seems to be 4-5 uber complicated methods to get fancy calculated album ratings. ie:

Since im a new (well a returning user to MC ) i had a really hard time following the examples..

All im looking for (well for start until i get the concept) is a new field that would be per album that just does some Math and calculates a new field (preferably one that could be written into the tags) called : calculated.album.ratings

This would have the mean (average) rating of all rated tracks in the current album.

Can anyone with more experience help me get started?

as per that thread, if you are using a "category view" (i.e. the main albums view) then some fields like ratings are auto-averaged

if you want an individual average, or want it to appear somewhere else other than a built in category, you need to use the variables.
